Interview with Thomas
Youngblood & Casey Grillo Paris,
April 25th 2011
On
April 25th before the Paris
show we got the chance to interview
Kamelot's guitarist and frontman Thomas
Youngblood, and in the last
moment we had the good surprise
to see Casey Grillo join in. It turned into
a very nice interview; hope
you enjoy it! A written transcription
and a translation in French
will follow within the next
days.
Kamelot
France -
Hey Thomas, hey Casey and thanks for giving us a bit of your time! First question was about the tour; you've just come back from a great tour in South America and begun with
the European tour so what are your feelings about that Pandemonium Tour so far?
Kam.
F. - And the South America
fans are very warm,
too... You had even fans waiting for
you at airports and so on, right?
Kam.
F. - Are you planning to keep the
same setlist for the European
Tour?
Kam.
F. - Yeah it's a great setlist. We
were just expecting maybe, you
know because of Fabio's different
range of voice.., more songs
from the early Kamelot. Nights of Arabia sounds amazing,
so why about some others...
like
The Fourth Legacy, that we
are
many to be waiting for...
T.Y
- Yeah but the thing is, like
I said before, with a song like
The Fourth Legacy...
Kam.
F. - or others from The Fourth Legacy!
Until Kingdom Come would sound
great with Fabio's voice too.
Kam.
F. - We were wondering about your
new 12 strings acoustic guitar,
that you talked about on Facebook...
did you bring it along?
Kam.
F. - About the new album. You have
announced a release for early
2013, how many songs are composed
so far, how's it going...?
Kam.
F. - I guess Oliver will help more?
Kam.
F. - Did you think about
a new singer already, do you have any specific singers
in mind?
Kam.
F. - What can you say about Roy's
situation and Kamelot's future?
Kam.
F. - What can we expect about this
new album in terms of atmosphere,
sound...?
Kam.
F. - What countries do you plan to
tour that you've never toured
before?
Kam.
F. - Casey we didn't expect
you to join the interview, so
thank you for being here! Can you tell us about
your set on this tour, are there
any changes with it, or is it
just newly customized?
Kam.
F. - About your solo project,
Thomas... is
it still on the cards?
Kam.
F. - It's really nice that you
put so much in this tour, with
so many great guests...
Elize is wonderful, Tommy Karevik
sounds awesome on Kamelot's
songs and gets better and better
from one concert to another,
and Fabio - I think Fabio amazed
pretty much everybody, even
skeptical fans.
Kam.
F. - There will be Atle Pettersen
at the Oslo show too, from Above
Symmetry... great voice and
we can easily imagine him singing
Kamelot's songs.
Kam.
F. - Well, thank you very much to
you both and to the whole Kamelot team
for all you put in this tour,
cause we can see and I think
everybody can see how much you've
worked for this tour, to give
your fans the best and to make
it happen the best possible
way given the situation. Thank
you.
T.Y
- Thank you, and thanks to all
the fans...
C.G.
- Thanks, we have fun
doing it as well!
Kam.
F. - Before leaving we'd like you
to say some words to your fans
in French, cause last time we
asked this and you cheated,
you answered in English!...
